Members of The Tobago Emergency Management Agency team left their various work stations to attend The Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago Annual Technical Conference at Cara Suites Hotel Southern Main Road Claxton Bay Trinidad.

The Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago is a learned society of professional engineers dedicated to the development of engineers and the engineering profession. The association promotes the highest standards of professional practice and stimulates awareness of technology and the role of the engineer in society.

The Annual Technical Conference 2014 will examine the role of Engineers and Engineering in natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and man-made catastrophes like oil spills, power outages, and chemical disasters. The main objective is to determine the technological capacity to prevent, manage and recover from such disasters in Trinidad and Tobago and in the wider Caribbean Region.

The conference is set for the 23rd and the 24th of January 2014.Our members of staff from various sections in the agency would be attending the conference. This would not only enhance their knowledge as an individual but also enhance the agency’s as well. We wish them a safe journey.
