The BHP Billiton’s Annual Exercise for Oil Spill Preparedness is scheduled for Friday May 9th 2014 at 9:15am.The BHP Billiton Annual Exercise for Oil Spill will be held at Kilgwyn Bay. The Tobago Emergency Management Agency along with other stakeholders will be part-taking in this said exercise.
The objectives of this exercise are as follows:
To exercise capabilities of the Regultory Agencies and external Stakeholder Agencies in the management of an oil spill.
To test the effectiveness of our Emergency Response Plans.
Exercising the roles and responsibilities of the Incident Management Team.
Exercising the Oil Spill Response Capabilities of BHP Billiton Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Contractors.
Exercising the communications protocol as will be done in a real event.

To be fully aware of the policy and procedures of oil spill preparedness, the BHP Billiton has extended training in this area. This training commences at 8:30am on Thursday 8th May 2014 and ends at 4:30pm.Training will be held at the Scarborough General Hospital Lecture Room.
