As the Carnival Celebrations in Scaborough  climaxed, the number of incidents to the Advanced Medical Post (AMP) intensified. The figures from Monday have since been updated and is now reflected as follows:

  • Cuts/Bruises/Lacerations- 5
  • Blunt Force Trauma- 5
  • Fractures- 1

On Tuesday 21st February, 2012 the medical cases recorded at the Advanced Medical Post (AMP) equaled, nine(9). The total number of incidents recorded to the AMP over the two (2) day period was twelve (12).

It is clear that with the expansion of the CCTV Surveillance Network that the overall number of incidents when compared to other years have reduced drastically since revelers are clear that the eyes of the protective services are looking-on.

The celebrations ran until midnight when all music trucks and other outlets were ordered by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to stop, making way for sanitation and other maintenance crews laboured into the early hours of Wednesday 22nd February 2012, busy cleaning-up and removal of baricates as they retured the city of Scarborough to its normal operation after the two (2) days of carnival celebrations.
