TEMA’S Joint Command Operations 2012, headed by our Director Allan Stewart ran smoothly for the duration of the carnival festivities, with all of its components fully functional.

Carnival Tuesday began slowly in relation to incidents being brought into the Advanced Medical Post (AMP) with only one reveler treated for a minor injury.

However, an dequate medical team of  personnel remained with the (AMP) to take care of any injuries that may occur with the massive crowds of revelers who flocked to scarborough during the final hours of the 2012 Carnival celebrations.

The operation was graced by a visit from the Commissioner of Police Duane Gibbs and his team and also the Secretary of Health and Social Services, the honourable Claudia Groome-Duke. Both officials commended TEMA for this iniciative in collaborating the involved agencies for this noble operation which has managed to control the rate of incidents during the carnival festivities, and wished us continued success in serving the people of Tobago.

The two (2) Special Needs locations, placed at two judging points in Scarborough were also managed smoothly.

The operation ran until the end of the Carnival celebrations in Scarborough at twelve (12) midnight on Tuesday 21st February, 2012.  Finally, the packing-up and re-deployment of all our equipment to the Emergency Operations Center took place, with all hands-on-deck into the early hours of Wednesday morning, TEMA's staff raced to secure the agency's assets in readiness for the next incident.

TEMA continues with its efforts in effecting proper disaster preparedness and management on the island of Tobago.
