TEMA was applauded on the commissioning of its own New Fleet of Vehicles on the 3rd January, 2012.  The ceremony saw the commissioning of seven (7) new vehicles acquired by the Tobago House of Assembly; which took place at the Fairfield Complex, Bacolet, Scarborough, Tobago.

Before the viewing of the vehicles, remarks were brought to the audience by Dr. Ellis Burris- The Chief Administrator of the THA; Mr. Allan Stewart- Director of TEMA and Commissioning Prayer by Pastor Toney Mapp- President of the Tobago Mission of Seventh Day Adventists.

 

Vehicles and Features-
Of the seven commissioned vehicles, three (3) would support the CERT program while the other four (4) would be used by departmental staff in the execution of their duties:

  • Tracking Mechanism: resources can be tracked where ever they are located, with the office having the ability to monitor the:
    • Route of travel
    • Speed of travel
    • Having the ability to disable the mobility of any vehicle should the need arise.
  • Conduct Rapid Response: by CERT using GPS co-ordinates when responding to incidents in the field.

The Management of TEMA and by extension the Tobago Disaster Management Committee remains committed to providing the island of Tobago, the country and the wider Caribbean with the best support in Disaster Management for the coming years.
